Field Trip to the Zoo

Ladybug finally got to go to the zoo,

she been asking for awhile now.

I met up with my sister and we took

seven kiddos for four hours...

THEY HAD A BLAST.

What a Hand FULL of Blessings

My sister had her third child a few weeks ago, so we pulled the camper to her
town and I got to help out by watching her other two children. It was tough
being in a camper with SIX kiddos for 4 days, but I enjoyed it so much and
we made a lot of memories. :-)
Before my husband and I got married we talked about children, I told him that
I wanted SIX...he didn't much like the idea, THREE was more of a number
he wanted BUT, the good Lord had other plans and He blessed us with our
precious FOUR. <3

I got my SIX kiddos for a few days.

 

My two li'l men that could pass for twins,

they are 5mths apart in age, best buds.

 

 

My baby girls, sure enjoy a splash of pink

to put a BIG smile on ones face.

 

And here is li'l sissy, she is precious.

Homeschooling families choose...

-more messy house days

Oh how true those words are for any homeschooling mom, though I MUST

have a clean house...haha, it's hard to do some days, this has been MY MOST

CHALLENGING thing to overcome as a homeschool mom, I like to have

a schedule and a clean house, not always easy to do by far but I'm getting

better each year (this is my 8th year) -well, I'm trying. ;-)

BUT, we are  getting by, or that is I am and we have made it through

9 weeks of school already, a fourth of the year is finished, hard to believe.

And I even managed to finish decorating inside of the camper for the Fall

this week so I had to take a quick picture of the kiddos, love taking pictures

of my babies. <3

Homeschooling can have it's "ups and downs"!!!

I love having my kiddos close to me BUT,

at times I wish more time alone would be nice to have.

A good day of school is when we get finished at noon BUT,

more fighting goes on when we are always together.

The little ones watch and learn from the older ones BUT,

they sure can make a lot of noise making it hard to study.

We can do school in our PJ's if we like BUT,

...well, you have to admit that's pretty cool! :-D

 

It was "costume" day in school

 

Bubba is starting to slowly work on his own now, and I've been waiting for

this day BUT, it makes my heart melt to know he don't need me like he once did...

never seen that feeling coming!!! Some days he gets up early to start school so

he can finish sooner and he is such a big help, he loves to read to ladybug so I can

help lil' man with his school.

I've been reading many blogs of other homeschooling mothers to help me with

my journey, and I came across one who has a child with "Dyslexia" as she

wrote about her child the more I started seeing my OWN child......for years I've

known it runs in my family, I myself fight it but it's very mild. BUT, to teach a

child with it can be a challenge...

Sweetheart has trouble with reading, so it has been a problem in math as well

as for writing and spelling makes me want to cry sometimes.

He does better if I give him one-on-one and hands on work...so I take a VERY

DEEP BREATH "pray" and we work slow and keep going OVER and OVER!

Lil' man LOVES to do school, my first for that...he will ask to do school on the

weekends sometimes. I find he is learning much faster then his older brothers

did just because he enjoys it so much BUT, we still have days where he is not

in the mood, "I'm tired" is always a favorite saying at the Barr table.

And since I've started using pinterest it's amazing the free prints and DIY ideas

I've gotten to help me school for this year.

And our baby girl only has one more year left before it's her turn to join her

brothers in homeschooling...*shew* the thought of FOUR at the table is

a bit scary, BUT, for now my sweet lil' girl will be my "baby".

A Virtuous Woman, Part 1

I've been taking notes on the "virtues woman" for over a year now, and I thought I would take

the time to type it out for y'all to read, hope it's a blessing and you enjoy as much as I did.

#1. FAITH: Serving God, seeking His will and following His ways.

"The Pain of Motherhood"

I read an article in a magazine this week

that I enjoyed and could relate to.

"I love my children so much that at times

it hurts. Mothering brings me so much

joy, yet it is the most frightening and

overwhelming task imaginable."

Oh these words are oh, so TRUE.

I find myself worrying over EVERYTHING!

When my kids are sick or hurting

I'm sick and hurting for them.

My oldest gets poison-ivy pretty

much every year, no one else gets it,

all because I got it when I was

pregnant for him, he gets it.

And this week it was around his

eye making him miserable...

Praying that all my teaching will

stick and they will grow up

loving/walking with the Lord.

My two younger boys found some

boxes while I was packing this

week and made helmets out of them

and had a play fight with sticks.

Makes me think of 

soldiers for the LORD...

And will they love me even after

all the mistakes I'll make

along the way of being a mom?

My lil' girl is always saying

"I help" and wants to do everything

I do, it's so sweet and loving

but, will she always want to help?

I just hope and pray God will give

me all that I need to mother them well.
