Our Roadschool Day

"Don't let yourself be taken hostage
by someone else's idea of what your
homeschool should look like. "
~Hidie St.John~

Still roadschooling, been here in Oklahoma
going on NINE months now...

My mornings start with a cup of coffee, the Bible and
prayer...without these three I'm no good. ;-)
Before my computer crashed I would print any papers
for school that I keep on a memory stick.
We lapbook so I print a lot of paper.

We get on our good walking/playing shoes and go
outside if weather permits and do PE first thing,
getting out all that energy has helped so
much...plus we do a lot of school outside as well,
the camper walls start closing in on us fast. ;)

I do Saxon math with the 2 older ones, and I
have to keep my sweetheart busy with
his hands or he gets bored, It helps him to
learn better as well with dyslexia.

Legos is a huge part of our learning, I love to see
their eyes light up and those big smiles on
their faces when they bring me something they created
"but watch out!!!!"
We always have a messy floor! :)

We use dry erasers a lot it saves me having to collect
paper...I just laminate calendars and chores.
Baby girl's work I slid in page protectors and she
can do it over and over again. Our Bible verses stay
up on the dry erase board for all to see. :)

Woodworking Day

I've been rearranging the camper...my husband holds his breath every time I come up
with a new idea...anyway, I took out one of the bottom bunks and put a toddler bed
in the space for li'l girl and put li'l man on the top bunk. They both just LOVE their
new spaces I made for them...BUT, this was the first time li'l man has been on a top
bunk so I was scared he would roll out of his bed and I needed a ladder for him to be
able to climb into the top bunk...I have a brother that knows carpentry work,
so I called him up. :-) Once he had it made for me the kiddos and I finished up with
some sanding and staining.

She is taking down her old stickers.

This is what a silly boy does with rubber gloves...

The kiddos are staining away.

Love how my brother pieced the wood together.

After all that staining it was play time.

LOVE how it turned out.

The Barr 6 Still Camping

Our first camper!

Been TWO years now since we sold our 1500 sq. ft. house on one acre
and packed our 31ft. pumper pull camper with two slide outs, FULL
to the top of anything it would hold and took off on a journey...
THE LIFE OF CAMPING!
Our plan was to find a bigger house with more land for our growing
family in SIX months...well,
We stayed a good 5 months in the li'l camper and changed our minds,
buy land and build, so we got a bigger camper to give us just a li'l
more room to stay LONGER!!!
We got our 36ft. fifth wheel with four slide outs. For now it's HOME,
and we do get a lot of looks and tons of questions...not every day you
see a family with 4 kiddos pull just about everything they own around
behind them from one RV park to the next. ;-)

My new favorite quote!

A Year Later Already

"Get on your knees and pray,
then get on your feet and work."
~Gordon B. Hinckley~

Old and New camper

This week marks the anniversary when we took that long 790 mile ride to Tampa,
FL. to go pick up our new camper we had custom ordered for our family to live in
while we save our pennies to buy some land and build our dream home.
Well, a year later we are still saving and looking for land...the kids are getting more
anxious then I am I believe; they want their own trees in their own yard and the
toys we packed up in the shed over a year ago, these are the things they talk about
the most from day to day. I know the Lord will provide the land, it's to wait on Him.

Sitting at Lazydays in Tampa, FL.

We are in FL. waiting for a hitch to be put in our truck
so we can pull our new camper down the road...
It looks so big by me...

My lil' kitchen...

Our living/dining room...

The kids room...

My new room...

And here is my love...

We stayed in our new HOME last night to try it out, it was
NICE...the closest to a house for us after nearly 5mths. in
the older camper we have had, it felt like home as well. ;)

Now to just get back to Louisiana to my babies, I miss
them so much, it's been 3 days now since we left them...
enjoing this time alone it is sweet, BUT, I love my job!!!

Truck is Fixed and Camper is Ready...

It's been 4 weeks since we put our truck in the shop...
on August 9th. just before noon, a man pulled into our
lane and hit us...we were ALL okay just a lil' shook up!
We pushed him a good way..
Our poor truck...

And LazyDays in Tampa, FL. called and said our new camper
is on the lot and ready for us to pick up anytime!!!
So we are heading home this weekend, drop the kiddos off
with grandparents and head to Florida to get my new HOME!
This is our floor plan...

Lord willing I'll be able to post pictures when I get it, but
until then may God bless you and yours always. :-)
