Homeschool Archery

The kiddos have started taking ALAS archery in school now, it's been a lot of fun. My two older boys
got to attend South Regional Tournament and placed good scores and went with their team to State Tournament, one proud momma here.
I've never been one to like school sports, but this has been a blessing for my kids.

This was our very first tournament, I didn't
get very many pictures of this day.

Our second tournament, this time I brought
my camera to take many pictures.

They shot a total of 60 arrows each at the targets.

They even got to shoot 3D targets.

3D archery was so fun to watch.

Simply Joy

"Joy is a decision, a really brave one about how your going to respond to life."

I have to be reminded of this often, because stress, worry and depression like
to take over most of the time, I have to take a deep breath and take a good
look around me and see how blessed I really am.

For a very windy, chilly day, I was able to get some family pictures.

Thankful for my tripod here.

Matt and the kiddos.

Baby girl and I match...she loved that.

Oh my boys!!! One has passed me up.

TBT, Our Little Vacation

I didn't get to blog about our vacation we took back in April, it was so fun. It had been a good
4 years or longer since we took a family vacation, and we had talked about going back to
Missouri for years and taking the kids to Silver Dollar City. As a child I got to go a couple of times
but I was so young I don't remember much. We waited for the kiddoes to be old enough to be
able to ride the rides and no pushing a stroller, lol.

April 29-May 2, 2015

On our way we stopped in Arkansas and
seen the Natural Bridge 100 ft.
sandstone bridge.

The first day we went it was very cool, up there
it still felt like spring, glad we packed
warm clothes for the trip.

We got to go in the cave, now it was
a good 15-20* cooler inside.

We rode all the rides...more than once. I got to
ride the old Fire in the Hole.

Went to many of the craftsmen shops and
learned so much, here we watched
them make some yummy taffy.

We also enjoyed Branson and rode the Ducks.

And walked through the Titanic.

Our housekeeper even left us a sweet note.
I left her one in return.

A Quick Look Back

2015 has been a blessing...

We got to go on a family vacation, been 4 years since our last one.

I finished my 10th year of Homeschooling, what a mile stone for me.

The kiddos enjoyed going to VBS, they learn so much, God is good.

Took a lot of trimming limbs, but we got our camper down the driveway.

Our Fall Family Photos

I know I'm late getting these up on my blog,
I just have a hard time using my cell to
manage my blog...someday maybe I'll have
internet like normal people do. 😊
But I've been truly blessed with my little
family God has given me.

Weekend with Daddy

Been a full/quick weekend...my welder threw his back out
couldn't walk, had to go see a chiropractor for some help.

So the kids and I loaded up the car and drove out to meet
him, camper life again...did I miss you?...sorry to say NO!
So it's been the usual; clean the camper, wash loads of
laundry, buy groceries, etc. Oh don't get me wrong, my
welder is NOT nasty, just his meaning of clean is just
different from mine. LOL

#1, The sheets are clean (been on for weeks) I take a bath
before climbing into bed....
#2, His towel is clean, (been hanging for days) I just dry
off and hang back up to dry...
#3, Well, sorry about the sink FULL of dishes, I was just
too tired last night to wash.....I came just in time huh?
#4, I pile my receipts, ear plugs and change in one spot....
sorry I have OCD I so can't take that!
#5, No need to fold clothes, I'm just going to wear them
again this week....

We were able to take the kiddos to the Audubon Aquarium
of the Americas in New Orleans, it was a blast, even though
we had to take it slow for my welder over his hurting back.

The Sea Horses are one of our favorite
exhibits of the aquarium, such neat
lil" creatures God has made.

The boys and their "catch"

It was a very rainy day but we managed to
go look at the Mississippi River and
watch the steamboats pass by.

LOVE how the streets look down by the
French Quarter, the lovely garden
balconies are just too awesome.

And we found a coffee house and my welder
bought me some beignets....oh so yummy!

Field Trip with Daddy

Well, Thursday my husband had a day off
so we planned a field trip to a
pumpkin patch to pick our own pumpkins.

We put on our school shirts we designed
and spent the day with daddy.
Ran through the maze and picked many
pumpkins...too many. :)

My pumpkin kiddos.

Didn't know there are white ones
or ones that weight about 50lbs.

Ardmore, OK Trip

Three hours south from us is Ardmore, so we took the weekend and drove
down there and went to a drive through Zoo that had some really neat
animals to see and feed right out of your car. :-)

Arbuckle Wilderness,
ladybug wanted to sit on "Bambi"
and the boys are getting attacked by a tiger.

The donkeys would just open their mouth
for us to poor food in, and I NEVER
seen turtles come running out of the water
to be fed, it was just too weird.

They wanted that camel to come to the car,
UNTIL, daddy locked the windows and they couldn't
roll them back up so it stuck his head
in and took a big chunk out of the cup of food!!!

The kiddos got a good laugh at their daddy
and I being "strange" animals there.
We rode go-karts as well, my first time, FUN!

We cooled off at the motel pool.

I have Knights in the house

Last week I had the children study about Knights and we put it all in a lapbook.
We even built a castle out of paper and legos, we love our legos.

Our Knight lapbook

Our castle

We did all that because this past Mothers Day weekend we got to go to a
Renaissance Festival here in Muskogee, OK. it was an exciting time.

Standing outside the castle waiting
for the festival to begin.

One of our favorite parts was watching
the Knights jousting.

The boys had to get their own swords.

And li'l girl got her face painted.

BUT the best part was the knighting.

Upon entering the gate they gave my boys a quest, "The Queens Quest" where
they where knighted later on that day, so I now have "Sir's" in the camper. :-)
My mothers day weekend was a blessing.

The Barr 6 Still Camping

Our first camper!

Been TWO years now since we sold our 1500 sq. ft. house on one acre
and packed our 31ft. pumper pull camper with two slide outs, FULL
to the top of anything it would hold and took off on a journey...
THE LIFE OF CAMPING!
Our plan was to find a bigger house with more land for our growing
family in SIX months...well,
We stayed a good 5 months in the li'l camper and changed our minds,
buy land and build, so we got a bigger camper to give us just a li'l
more room to stay LONGER!!!
We got our 36ft. fifth wheel with four slide outs. For now it's HOME,
and we do get a lot of looks and tons of questions...not every day you
see a family with 4 kiddos pull just about everything they own around
behind them from one RV park to the next. ;-)

My new favorite quote!

Blessings Over Flowing

"Remember that your ultimate goal is for your
children to grow up secure in your LOVE,
strong in their FAITH, and with sound
CHARACTER." ~Gary Chapman

Back in late November into early December we were getting so much
rain in Louisiana and I been wanting to take Christmas pictures outside
but it looked like it would never stop raining or dry up enough......
Finally the sun came out a few days and I got my pictures.
So I put my cowboy boots on right along with the kiddos and my love
and we hopped into the truck, drove in 4 wheel drive to the barn out in
my husband's grandpa's field. ;-D

This one by the barn

They loved playing on the hay

Gave them each a candy cane, set up the tripod, and after 45min. and
about 50 pictures later, I had some sweet memories to enjoy forever. They
did so well and I was very proud of them, loved all my pictures I got that day.
