The Barr 6 Still Camping

Our first camper!

Been TWO years now since we sold our 1500 sq. ft. house on one acre
and packed our 31ft. pumper pull camper with two slide outs, FULL
to the top of anything it would hold and took off on a journey...
THE LIFE OF CAMPING!
Our plan was to find a bigger house with more land for our growing
family in SIX months...well,
We stayed a good 5 months in the li'l camper and changed our minds,
buy land and build, so we got a bigger camper to give us just a li'l
more room to stay LONGER!!!
We got our 36ft. fifth wheel with four slide outs. For now it's HOME,
and we do get a lot of looks and tons of questions...not every day you
see a family with 4 kiddos pull just about everything they own around
behind them from one RV park to the next. ;-)

My new favorite quote!

Cookies for Daddy

"When in doubt, choose the kids.
There will be plenty of time later
to choose the work."
~Anna Qundlen~

The kiddos wanted to make
cookies for their daddy.

And so while we mixed it up
big brother snapped the action.

They were a lot of help
and did a good job.

See how yummy!
Applesauce Oatmeal Cookies...

Birthday Boy is 6

My li'l man had a birthday and now is SIX! He wanted an "Army Man"
theme, so I did my best. I made camo cupcakes, found some big army
men at the Dollar Tree and found him some camo shorts and hat...
he was a happy boy.

Lego Learning, UNschooling

"To invent, you need a good imagination
and a pile of stuff. ~Thomas Edison

We took a few weeks off from school to "UNschool", I know some
moms may turn their nose up to it, BUT, for us it's a blessing, a time
away from the book work to show our creativity and just have FUN!
I found some Lego learning on pinterest and we dug out the lego box
and art supplies and got to work LEARNING.

We love legos, so learning with
them is always FUN!
We learned; where legos started from,
how they are made, we did math
and other subjects with them.

Building and creating...
we even spelt "Denmark" :-)
#1; flags of Denmark
#2; our "Periodic Table"
(lego people on different elements)
#3; mosaic of a watch
#4; mosaic of a spider

Here is a close up, my oldest
made it look like the lego
people were building.

Ever since I found out about
"lapbooks" and "notebooks"
our homeschooling has
been much easier.

Rainy Easter Sunday

We got to go home for 3 short days during Easter weekend, it was
so nice to see green grass and feel the warm air we missed so much.
It rained on us on Easter so we had to hide the 100 eggs I filled in
the house, but the kiddos had a good time with that egg hunt twist.

Visit from "Flat Stanley"

We had a lil' paper boy from back home come visit us right before
Easter. The kiddos cousin in 2nd. grade was reading a book called
"Flat Stanley", which is about a boy who had a bulletin board
flatten him, it made him small enough to fit in an envelope and
go visit other places....so he was sent to us, and we had sooooo
much fun with him.

Boys and Flat Stanley playing
with LEGOS.

Kiddos working on the book
we made,
"Flat Stanley's Visit to Oklahoma"

Flat Stanley got to see SNOW!

He picked a flower to send
back to Louisiana.

The kiddos and I had fun with Flat Stanley, park days, field trips,
homeschooling group day, snow, etc. It was a week with Flat Stanley
we will always remember. :-D
